Eastsiders had a very special free event overlooking the Echo Park lake on October 27, 2007. Dance de los Muertos featured a variety of acts chosen to make you move. First up was the Park Time Punks spinning cool obscure beats mostly from the 80s. Next was DJ Efren Ramirez, who gained fame staring as Pedro Sanchez in the movie Napoleon Dynamite (and spawning all of those “Vote for Pedro” tees). He had a diverse set spinning tunes from the 80s, electronica, and modern grooves. At dusk, Electric Skychurch hit the stage and created a wall of original sounds. Next up was Boss Harmony, sharing some deep reggae beats.
Very Be Careful, who will be playing their 10th anniversary concert at LA CITA on holloween night, took the final spot. They brought many of their fans who came to dance, sing, and have a good time. Their good spirits ended a great day at the lake.
