Culture Clash will be hosting the Pocho Night of Power on December 21, 2007. Lalo Alcaraz and Estaban Zul, members of The Pocho Hour of Power on KPEK will also be on hand to add to the humor of the night. There will be live performances by Ollin (pictured above), Mezlah, Azlan Nation, and Run for Cover. The DJs HuiZil and Papalotl will be spinning the tunes before and after the sets. The event will take place at 110 S. Garfield in East Los Angeles with the doors opening at 9 PM. Tickets are 10 bucks presale and 12 bucks at the door.

What is pocho, you ask? Pocho is a not-so-nice term used by Mexicans to label Mexican-Americans. Yet, in recent years pochismo has become a source of pride and power for those living in El Norte.

Don’t worry, the festivities are open to anyone, pochos and non-pochos alike wanting to have a good time on a Friday night.
