John Valadez’s “Leed’s Shoes 1983” from ArtSceneCal.com
(probably not in the show, but a great painting)
Right after EASTSIDE SCENE decided not to post an acoustic concert by orignal eastsiders David Hidalgo & Louie Perez of Los Lobos because the concert was over 40 miles away at a venue in Irvine, another wonderful eastsider event is upon us in Anaheim. Our definition of the eastside grows again.
The exhibition will be a combination of three parts. The main exhibit will be “Papel Chicano: Works on Paper from the Collection of Cheech Marin” featuring over 40 works by Chicano artists. Some of the artists featured will be Gaspar Enriquez, Margaret Garcia, Raul Guerrero, Roberto Gutierrez, Wayne Alaniz Healy, Adan Hernandez, Leo Limon, Jose Lozano, Cesar Martinez, Alex Rubio, Frank Romero, Eloy Torrez, John Valadez, Patssi Valdez, Vincent Valdez, and George Yepes.
The other two exhibits will be “Chicano Now: American Expressions, ” an interactive exhibition for families and ”The Chicano Collection/La Colección Chicana: Fine Art Prints by Modern Multiples – The Chicano Collection”.
The exhibit will start Saturday, January 26, 2008 and run till Sunday, April 27, 2008. The Muzeo Museum is located at 241 S. Anaheim Blvd. in Anaheim. General Admission is $12.95. This museum does not have a ”free day”.
